Salvage & Sap Collection

Reviving a 45,000 year old technique of using tree sap as a natural glue, our debut collection implements pure pine resin to bind wood together.

Pine Sap

An Ancient Glue

A technique that was used thousands of years ago, tree sap is believed to be the first glue. The SALVAGE & SAP collection circumnavigates toxic adhesives normally used in modern furniture making by employing this ancient binding agent - hand-harvested sustainably with a hatchet by chipping away where sap has accumulated in abundant amounts on the tree's surface instead of tapping or cutting into a tree.

Looking to the past for a better way forward.

Looking at the earth as a gift to be stewarded instead of an

object to be exploited, Earth To People implements ancient

stewardship principles - harnessing pure tree sap to bind

wood together instead of synthetic glues, harvesting

wind-fallen trees felled naturally by storms as opposed to

cutting them down, and repurposing salvaged metal as

opposed to sourcing new - nodding to the mindful peoples of

the past who pioneered ideas of collecting, repurposing, and

reworking resources that are both valuable and laborious to

extract, reusing whenever possible.

This debut furniture collection continues our conscientious

commitment to learn from the past so that we can build a

better future.
